I'm excited to announce that I'm working on a manuscript for a second non-fiction book about romantic love (title still TBA) with Polity! This book will focus on love's supposed connections to happiness (especially the romantic ideal of "happy ever after"). I'll also be exploring how love and happiness are crucially connected to making our own choices about how to live and what is valuable.

In other news, earlier this month I had the honour to be invited to the Words on the Water literary festival in Campbell River, BC. I read from What Love Is and What It Could Be but also had the chance to read some newer work, including a poem commissioned by the organizers for the festival.

For the poem I used a card from the Waite-Smith Tarot deck, the Queen of Cups, to work through some of my ideas on magic. I have a complicated relationship with magic, and not least because of how our cultural constructs of love and magic have been woven together ...
